My family & I would drive from Seattle to Hamilton, MT twice a year to visit my grandparents in the early 80's. I was 7,8,9 and my brother was 12,13,14 and we thought this was the coolest place EVAR!! Maybe it was because it was the only stop along I-90 or maybe it was the multitude of signs that kept our anticipation so high we drove our parents bonkers. Either way, when we got there it was a road trip stop that made us giddy with excitement! The colors, the lights, the pretty stones and super large pencils, the indian beaded coin purses and wagon wheels.....

Ahhhh..... our little slice of Heaven. Thanks for the great trip down memory lane!! I can't wait to show my kids one day!Lynnaehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07664115107595719521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6636159147473187753.post-20078202516412090332009-01-15T14:30:00.000-08:002009-01-15T14:30:00.000-08:00I happen to be a family member of the Lincoln's an...I happen to be a family member of the Lincoln's and this place is just as great as it has ever been. Maybe you think this because the demand from people wanting everywhere that you visit to be a Hilton Motel are to be sadly mistaken. The Silver Dollar has many family members working for them, and try their hardest to make it a very warm and inviting place. As if somewhere in podunk Haugan, MT is going to have some sort of resort, the people who adore the silver dollar are those that should be commended for not having their minds warped in to the "new" fad of having everything perfect and sparkly!.*AliKristinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11211385582314482643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6636159147473187753.post-62264848932776827532007-09-26T19:09:00.000-07:002007-09-26T19:09:00.000-07:00I worked there for four years during high school. ...I worked there for four years during high school. It has definately changed since then. It was a lively place to work. We would sometimes get four or five tour buses at once and it was kind of a rush to get it all done. The staff has changed significantly and the food is more processed than it was then. We used to hand cut our fries and make all of our salads from scratch (tater, macaroni, green). We even did our own hashbrowns (as a prep cook, I was quite busy all the time). It is sad to hear it has gone to the flies.Northernerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04487706374557622210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6636159147473187753.post-47158276051936549072007-09-25T07:46:00.000-07:002007-09-25T07:46:00.000-07:00Mom and I drove to Bozeman from Kellogg, summer of...Mom and I drove to Bozeman from Kellogg, summer of 2003 and wanted some breakfast. I unwisely suggested the $10,000,000,000,000,000 Silver and Bar. Cardboard toast lathered with petroleum rainbowed margarine, runny, cold egg, lazy hashbrowns, watery coffee is what I remember. Very disappointing. I think that same man bussed our table.

Must have been too early for the flies.

I returned to the $10,000,000,000,000 Silver and Bar last summer on a little video poker tour of western Montana and hit a straight flush for $100, so I felt vindicated.raymond perthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04924633611890299829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6636159147473187753.post-18335802757113771452007-09-22T12:37:00.000-07:002007-09-22T12:37:00.000-07:00If you find that a $10k Silver Dollar burger isn't...If you find that a $10k Silver Dollar burger isn't terribly satisfying, you should try one after a 7 mile hike. They're pretty damn tasty then! =)Bernadettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09903749702615572520noreply@blogger.com
