Her two daughters my mother Betty and her sister Inga worked there too. I used to go there as a child we lived in Spokane and I loved all the clothes but they were two big for my small body. Years later I remember getting clothes and she closed the store or sold it or something. My grandmother passed away in the 80s and my mother passed away 10 years ago but I will always remember the fashionett (spelling)?.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6636159147473187753.post-45109670788512175812021-06-13T22:17:37.803-07:002021-06-13T22:17:37.803-07:00Hi. My grandfather passed in 1936 (built most of the bridges in northern Idaho), and my grandmother had to raise 2 daughters by herself - my mom Betty and aunt Inga. So the three women ran the shop till my grand mother sold it in the (I believe the 1980's). My mom Betty met my dad at a university (Farragut Montana after the war), and eventually married. My dad was from Hawaii. When he graduated from college, they moved to Spokane. But after 2 winters of 33 below zero, we moved to Hawaii. Alas, my grandma, mom, and aunt have passed, but my dad is still here in Hawaii with me. I was looking (through Google maps) at how the town looks now as I have relatives passing through. I must say, I miss the old logging town, but the the new resort town looks cool. Aloha.. The Wikiup Gallery actually sold some very good Native American art. Around 1989 I bought several cornhusk bags there made by the Nez Perce years ago that are even more valuable today. By the way I'm a pine needle basket maker and around that time I was selling my baskets for hundreds of dollars in Santa Fe. Whenever I passed through Coeur d'Alene, I would invest some of that money in cornhusk bags. Anyone in Coeur d'Alene selling them today?arlano@earthlink.netnoreply@blogger.com
